GALTA Member Planetdwellers Nominated for 2024 Honour Awards

19 Aug 2024

Held annually since 2007, the Honour Awards pay tribute to New South Wales’s outstanding queer individuals and organisations. The awards celebrate the hard working people who persistently seek to make Australia a more welcoming and inclusive place. Shining a light on people and organisations operating in a variety of fields – including health, entertainment, and business – the event also helps to raise funds which support ACON, a leading provider of LGBTQIA+ healthcare.

This year, one of GALTA’s very own members has been selected as a finalist for the Honour Awards. Out of almost 300 nominations, Planetdwellers is being recognised for the Business Award as a pillar of the Sydney LGBTQIA+ community for the various ways in which they elevate the queer community and bring people together.

Planetdwellers is Australia’s premier LGBTQIA+ travel agency and tour operator. Founded in 2007, Planetdwellers has almost two decades of experience in organising everything from Pride Cruises to festival bus tours to queer history walking tours. The tour provider is proudly gay-owned and operated, and works hard to curate picture-perfect travel experiences for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

In addition to the numerous tours, trips, and events that Planetdwellers organises each year, the team is also known for their volunteering work in the community and their donations of travel prizes to worthy causes. Planetdwellers was also recognised earlier this year as a finalist for the City of Sydney Business Awards in the Small Business category.

The 2024 Honour Awards will be held on Wednesday the 18th of September, with tickets still available. The night will be one of celebration and pride in the New South Wales LGBTQIA+ community, and a chance to bring attention to a myriad of important issues and causes within the community.
